Pinewood Indomina Studios has plans to film 16 foreign movies in its first year, the president of the British Chamber of Commerce, Campos de Moya told El Dia in an interview. He said the studios were scheduled to open in the second half of 2013 and that a gigantic underwater stage under construction at the studio’s water facility is expected to be ready for the end of the year. The 55,000 square foot horizon water tank with blue screen capabilities and fully equipped diving and marine department will be used for water and underwater filming.
De Moya said that many film specialists would be in the country sharing their knowledge, adding that both TV and cinema films will be made at the complex that is under construction at a cost of US$50 million in Juan Dolio.
The last Harry Potter film was filmed at Pinewood.
