El Mesón is a Spanish restaurant, owned and run by José Luis Llorca. It is situated on the Boulevard in Juan Dolio in front of Costa del Sol and Hemmingway apartments.
It has been in Juan Dolio for years and has consistently been rated as the number one restaurant here. It is always full – usually with residents from the area as opposed to tourists, although some tourists do go there following recommendations from their hotels or apartment owners.
So what is the secret of their success??
Firstly it is consistency. All of the staff. from the kitchen staff, the waiters, the bar staff, the cashiers are all trained and constantly supervised by owner José Luis. The restaurant is run exactly in the way he wants, in all areas. Every dish is made in a certain way, so when you order it a second time it will be exactly the same as the first time. Quality of staff and attention to consistent detail are paramount.
Secondly the ingredients are all of the very best. Jose Luis has his own special fishermen who work out of Bayahibe, just for him, to ensure that the fish is the freshest and the very best quality. In the same way he has sourced the very best providers of meat and vegetables, and if something is not perfect it is simply not acceptable.
And finally the customer service is exceptional. All staff know the value of customer service, and almost all of the diners are regular customers, returning time and time again.
The restaurant has recently been remodeled and has a very comfortable atmosphere inside.
