It is often hard to know in Juan Dolio where to go for fresh fruit and vegetables – especially if you come from overseas where there is a fabulous array.
If you do not want to go into San Pedro, and the local colmado is a bit restrictive for you – usually just platanos, onions and potatoes, then what are the alternatives.
The first is Plaza la Brissa Express next to Banco Popular which we spoke about recently on this site.
The second option is El Conuco. This is situated in Plaza Castilla, across the road from Hemmingway apartments. All of the produce comes from a local finca and is all organic and absolutely lovely. There is a full range of fruit and vegetables and it will save you going into San Pedro!!
El Conuco is open from 8am until 11pm and closed all day Tuesdays.
