The Metro Country Club Soccer teen boys Team won a friendly match last Saturday against the ENED Institution
(for homeless children), managed by Mr. Wilgens Theodore.
The Metro Teen League, got off to a good start by scoring 4 goals early in the first half. Marcelo Brito provided an active defense by intercepting several passes while goalkeeper Joel Brito skillfully stopped several opposite team goal attempts.
Towards the end of the first half ENED quickly scored several goals to tie Metro at 4-4. This JDL sports writer had to temporarly leave game coverage in order to take an injured player to the clinic for head stitches after a collision occured with another player. Upon my return the game had been completed with a final score of Metro teen boys 8 and ENED teen boys 7.
Metro Team Captain Kevin Navas scored 5 goals, Cesarin Cruz Rosario scored 2 goals, Joel Gil 1 goal and Igor Jiralez with the game winning goal closing the game 8-7.
ENED team Ernesto Martinez had 4 goals, Miguel Chavez 2 goals, Joel Perez with 1 goal.
